The Ohio State Alumni Club of Van Wert/Paulding Counties Wins Award!
On April 28, 2008, the 5th annual "Spring for Scholarships" dinner and auction sponsored by The Ohio State University
at Lima was held at the Shawnee Country Club.
The Ohio State Alumni Club of Van Wert/Paulding Counties was awarded the Judy Von Blon Buckeye Spirit Award at the event.
This award goes to an area OSU Alumni Club who works diligently promoting The Ohio State University.
Accepting the traveling banner on behalf of our club were Alice Schaufelberger, left; and Pam Herminghuysen, right. Shown in the center is Judy Von Blon, for
whom the award is named.
The award also included a check for $500, which the club received.
The speaker for the evening was Dr. E. Gordon Gee, President of The Ohio State University. |

Local OSU Alumni Club to collect canned food items at events

The Van Wert & Paulding Chapter of the Ohio State University Alumni Club will begin collecting canned food
items to be distributed to area food pantries at the Buckeye Bash in November and the Spring Banquet.
The club is seeking to get more involved in community service type projects, as well as providing scholarships to local
students attending the Ohio State University. |
